RENOVATION

From the time we moved in we knew this Paper was just not going to work for us. We decided that we would have to pull it down.
What we did not know was that as we pulled it down
disaster would strike!!!

We found that hidden underneath the paper was cracks, unfinished patches and layers of paint and wallpaper. Who needs to strip the wallpaper...just paint it. NO!!!

The Discovery led to one decision that we would be starting fresh in the bedroom....If we have to fix it we can at least insulate. :)

As you can see my mask did not work.

All the plaster down and clean floors.

Lath down and Insulation is next!

 Insulation out!

Walls Cleared and Carpet Pulled!

Sub flooring Pulled!
(The Base Boards were trapped under the sub flooring.)

After Some Scrubbing! We think we can salvage the Floor!
(Silly previous owners they make things called drop cloths!)

Base Boards Pulled!

We Finally have the demo Complete!!! Next stage plugging the holes and then on to Spray foam insulation! After that will come drywall!

I so desperately want to have walls! Especially so that I can Paint them! :)

Joe put lights on the fan in the living room and the bedroom! So bright!

He also installed a Pump Tank, Iron Filter and a Water Softner.

Almost finished installing our tankless water heater.

Our Stock pile of canned goods!
I lost count on how much I canned, but hope to can more next year!
More fun to come as we continue to change our house into our home! Joe hung pictures last week! I look around and smile! It's beginning to feel like we own this place! :)

Projects, Projects Everywhere...

My wonderful husband put in a new Water Softner, Iron Filter, Pump Tank and Soon A Tankless water-heater. Our Old Pump tank was water logged...The softner was not softening...and we had so much Iron build up it was caking on the surfaces in a week! yuck! New Heater soon to be installed because we get anywhere from 10-15 minutes to shower before it runs cold!

Chicken coop is on it's way. We have the door up. We have the inside door up and all the hinges ready to put up the doors to the outside. We also need to put up the fence for the chicken run, just as soon as the ground is a little softer.

We added light attachments to our fans. It is now bright and beautiful inside!

Other than that we are still trying to get all of the pictures hung up on the walls and keep the house clean all the while finishing projects!

Baptism and Renovations

Joe's Baptism - Sun. Aug. 26

Shed into Coop

Shed on the Property

$15 in Lowe's Mistint paint, Old Barn wood and Some hard labor from Joe and I!

Joe saved old barn wood and built the Wall
The backside of the wall and inside: The small coop inside is going to be our  chick house
For now it will be for a little black chicken a friend gave us.

We still need to put in the nest boxes, flip up doors to the outside and the door to the coop.
